Last December several spanish websites including AS.
com ran a story that international movie star Antonio Banderas wanted to get into racing and was looking for funding to run teams in the 125cc and 250cc championships, as well as the Spanish and European series.
Spanish RTVE talking to Banderas, who is in Los Angeles, announced that he is ready to launch his Promoracing Team in Moto2 that will be run by Daniel Devahive and that the first rider they’ve chosen is 125cc rider Jean Olive.
Olive currently rides with the Derbi Racing Team and is 10th in the standings.
Banderas and Devahive had originally chosen Aleix Espargarò but the rider bowed out to ride in MotoGP for Pramac Ducati next year.
Espargarò must have signed a lot of pre-contracts in Moto2, because before signing up with Pramac, he was also in the final stages of negotiations with Luca Boscosuro of the Speed-Up-Aprilia team.
After the jump we’ve added the Moto2 teams entry list that was announced during the Estoril round.
Bandera’s team is on the reserve list with two riders.
