Anticipating the Arrival of Dublin’s Underground

“Dear Editor, – I find myself currently on a sparkling new metro carriage in Madrid after travelling on a sleek high-speed train from Seville that motored at an impressive 270km/h. As far as I know, Spain is at the forefront in Europe for successfully completing projects within schedule and budget constraints.
Considering this, has the Department of Transport thought about visiting Madrid to learn from their successful practices? Or, a rather bold idea, might they consider employing a Spanish construction company for the work? Kind regards,
BRIAN KELLY,
Dublin 14.”
