It is indeed a delight to observe that a precious yellow-crowned night heron has comfortably settled in Mayo following an extensive voyage (“Bird enthusiasts descend on Mayo at the sight of elusive heron”, News, 27th May).
Such an occurrence is extraordinary and infrequent it appears.
Now, should Sam manage to accomplish a similar feat this year, it will be an exceptional twofold achievement for our county post yet another extended expedition.
