An apartment block in Co Longford was severely damaged by a fire that started during the early morning hours. The Grafton Court apartments in Longford town were the unfortunate victims of the inferno. The emergency services and police were alerted and arrived on the scene shortly before 1.30am. The fire was effectively suppressed within a few hours and thankfully, no injuries were reported. As part of the ongoing investigation, the area has been cordoned off for technical and forensic examination.
