All FP2 practices cancelled at Assen – UPDATED

All FP2 practices for all three GP classes at Assen have been cancelled this afternoon due to an oil spill that is proving very tough to clean up for the marshals.
The oil came from Alex Badolini’s Suter MMXI during this morning’s Moto2 FP1 session.
Badolini crashed at the Geert Timmer turn and was able to remount trying to get back to the pitlane, but his bike began smoking and dripping oil all over the track, thus forcing the session to be red flagged and after 30 minute delay for the 125cc class, it was announced that 125cc FP2 session would be rescheduled.

The start of second MotoGP practice was also delayed as the clean up crews continued their work and the final decision was taken to cancel all of this afternoon’s sessions with this statement: “FP2 Sessions cancelled as track conditions are affected by oil spillage“.
