Aimee’s Sculpted Brand Sees Profit Surge

Aimee Connolly, a businesswoman, achieved a significant 50% surge in her cosmetic company’s revenue amounting to €22.23 million in the last fiscal year. This revenue explosion has set a new record for Sculpted by Aimee Connolly Cosmetics Ltd, as it clocked an increase of €7.4 million from the previous figure of €14.75 million. In light of the impressive sales growth, the firm’s pre-tax profits jumped 20%, totaling €2.89 million.

Aimee, after amassing €10,000 through her freelance makeup artist work, established the lucrative enterprise in 2016. This firm encompasses a combination of physical retail locations as well as a booming online venture, namely www.SculptedbyAimee.com, which has contributed significantly to the financial growth.

The soaring revenues come on the back of the inaugural operating year of their prime Grafton Street store in Dublin, which was launched in September 2022. Further contributing was the addition of stores at Victoria Square, Belfast, and Carnaby Street, London in the same year. The brand also maintains presence in Kildare Village and has most recently debuted in Selfridges as part of its UK expansion.

The employee strength of the cosmetic venture almost doubled last year, rising from 26 to 49, which in turn led to a 120% increment in personnel expenses to €2.47 million. Taking into account non-cash depreciation costs of €239,308, the company recorded after-tax profits of €2.5 million, having borne a corporation tax of €384,061.

Aimee Connolly’s business is very much a familial affair, with her mother, Claire and spouse, John Greene being board members. John, also involved with Camille Thai franchises alongside friend and Galway hurler, Joe Canning, joined the board of Sculpted by Aimee in December 2022. Aimee and John tied the knot in August 2023. Directors’ remuneration witnessed an increase from €80,000 to €200,000 over the last year.

In terms of liquidity, the firm’s cash reserves swelled by €751,000, increasing from €2.6 million to €3.4 million. Simultaneously, the amount owed to the business grew significantly, rising from €4.01 million to €4.92 million in the last year.
