Aer Lingus Pilot Pay Dispute Resurfaces

The disagreement over pay between Aer Lingus pilots and the company is expected to be mediated at the Labour Court on Tuesday. The looming industrial action, scheduled on Wednesday by the Irish Airline Pilots’ Association (Ialpa) members at the airline, seeks a 24 per cent wage increase, a resolution that has resulted in disrupted travel plans for 35,000 passengers due to flight cancellations. Late on Monday, it was confirmed by both Ialpa and Aer Lingus that they had agreed to partake in a Labour Court meeting on Tuesday afternoon. This development unfolded after a day of both parties expressing their openness to negotiations, though no substantial progress appeared to be made.
