Aer Lingus Aircraft Delayed After Pay Dispute

Following stalled negotiations with pilots over pay increases, Aer Lingus has reported that it probably won’t be getting the initial few of a series of new planes that were due to be added to their fleet. Pilots, who are members of the Irish Airline Pilot’s Association (IALPA), have been arguing for pay raises to keep up with inflation and to be on par with wages offered by other companies. Attempts to resolve the disagreement collapsed with no resolution by the end of this month, Aer Lingus confirmed Wednesday. This impasse has led to an anticipation of not receiving the first out of six new Airbus planes that was scheduled to be supplied by their parent company, International Airlines Group (IAG). The airline is expecting the wage dispute to be taken to the Labour Court on the 22nd of April, as mentioned in a recent statement.
