Addressing the Limitations of Airport Capacity

Dear Editor,

I concur with Brian Callanan’s perspective in his letter about regional airports (published on 17th September). By augmenting the number of flights departing from regional airports, we could effectively inspire more individuals to utilise these facilities, subsequently reducing the strain on Dublin Airport. Could this be our solution?

Yours faithfully,

Furthermore, after recently arriving from a short vacation and undergoing a delay of 20 minutes to exit the plane and an additional 20-30 minutes to retrieve my luggage from a surprisingly deserted baggage collection area, I’ve reached the conclusion that Dublin Airport simply doesn’t have the capacity to accommodate any additional load.

Yours faithfully,
Gerry Lyons,
Castleknock, Dublin 15.
