A young lad has tragically lost his life after encountering a problem in the Grand Canal in County Kildare during the past weekend. The Gardaí issued a statement that they received awareness of an individual having trouble in the waters of the Grand Canal between Ardclough and Celbridge in County Kildare, around 5.40pm on Saturday. Several emergency teams rushed to the site and a short time later, a teenager’s body was recovered from the water. The coroner in the locality has been alerted, with plans underway for a postmortem.
