Authorities apprehended a male suspect in connection to a significant cannabis seizure valued at around £240,000 on Friday evening in Cork City. The seizure is part of a continuing operation centred on managing and curtailing the drug trade within the region.
A house located within the Mahon district of the city was the target of the search operation, led by the Divisional Drugs Unit situated at Anglesea Street. The operation succeeded in finding approximately 12 kilograms of cannabis.
A man in his twenties was taken into custody. He currently remains detaining under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act of 1996 in a local police station. The seized narcotics are due to be forwarded for a detailed forensic examination, while police investigations are still ongoing.
