A gentleman, in his fifties, tragically lost his life during a scuba diving expedition off the coast of Donegal

A gentleman in his fifth decade has tragically lost his life during a scuba diving expedition off the Donegal coastline. The unfortunate incident occurred in the Downings region, 19 miles offshore, when the man found himself in a predicament. The Malin Coastguard pulled the man from the sea on the previous day’s afternoon, and he was swiftly transported to Letterkenny University Hospital, yet he was sadly declared deceased soon after. The identity of the man remains to the public. Reports are presently being compiled pertaining to the incident for the Coroner’s Court. The spokesperson verified that on the afternoon of Monday, 22nd July 2024, authorities were notified of a distressing incident in the waters North West of Donegal involving a male in his 50s. He was retrieved from the sea by the Malin Coastguard, then conveyed to Letterkenny University Hospital where his death was officially confirmed. Documentation is now being composed for the submission to the Coroner’s Court.
