“7-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Clare Hotel”

A young seven-year-old lad lost his life, the result of a tragic occurrence at a swimming pool in a hotel located in County Clare, commemorated on a Saturday. Police and emergency services arrived at the Killaloe location just prior to 3pm. It has been confirmed that the lad was quickly transported from the Leisure Centre at the Lakeside Hotel & Leisure Centre, boasting views of Ballina and Killaloe, by ambulance during the Saturday afternoon. The lad, a resident of the nearby Clonlara parish, had been attending a birthday celebration at the hotel, which distances 24km from Limerick.

The immediate reaction to the questions raised, the police spokesperson stated, “Police and emergency services attended to an event that took place at a swimming pool located at a property in Killaloe, County Clare, shortly before 3pm on the 20th of April, a Saturday.” “The lad, aged seven, was moved from the incident site to the University Hospital Limerick, where he was later pronounced deceased.”

The death of the lad has been reported to the local coroner and the post-mortem examination is pending. The lad was found unconscious in the water and attempts were made to rescue him at the poolside. Although the lad’s death is being treated as a tragic mishap by the police, no malintent is suspected.

Once the event was known, the hotel’s leisure centre’s pool was immediately shut down. The local community has extended their sympathies to the family of the boy.
