“23 Arrested in North Dublin Operation”

In North Dublin, a mission led by the Garda resulted in the apprehension of 23 individuals. The arrested were caught committing crimes such as robbery and theft, 20 of them being men, while the remaining three were women. The combined charges laid against them amount to a staggering 100, which encompasses crimes like burglary, theft, unauthorised use of a vehicle, and owning stolen property.

This series of arrests came about due to a law enforcement campaign tied to Operation Thor, carried out by Gardaí throughout the Dublin Metropolitan Region North Division. Commenced in November 2015, Operation Thor was implemented to counteract the predicted rise of burglary and corresponding criminal activities typically seen during the colder months by deploying specific enforcement and preventive tactics.

A dispute concerning the working-class voters’ sympathy and understanding is currently under way, with Sinn Féin embroiled in doorstep debates. Court appearances for 17 of these arrestees have been scheduled on Tuesday, 4th June 2024 at 10.30am; they will be in front of the Justice Criminal Courts (Courts 1 and 4) and Swords District Court. The rest are anticipated to face the Dublin District Courts by the end of this week.
