2013 MV Agusta Brutale 800 to debut @ 2012 EICMA: first images

The Rivale won’t be the only new bike that Italian manufacturer MV Agusta will bring at the 2012 EICMA show in Milan, Italy (November 13-18): making its first public appearance there will also be the new Brutale 800, which will be powered by the same 800 cc 3-cylinder unit equipping the aforementioned naked-supermoto crossbred.

To set it apart from the existing range, the 2013 Brutale 800 will come with a dedicated set of color schemes meant to emphasize its ferocious attitude (Ruby Metallic Red/Silver, Mamba Red/White, Matt Gray/Pearl White and White/Blue Pearl ‘Italia’).
The mixed steel-aluminum trellis frame hosts the new in-line three engine with counter-rotating crankshaft, which is credited with an output of 125 hp at 11,600 rpm and a peak torque of 81 Nm available at 8,600 rpm.
MV Agusta hasn’t released any performance figure yet, but given the 167 kg dry weigth of the model, its power-to-weight ratio will necessarily have to be pretty good.
And we are sure that the engine will be more than capable to deliver the goods.
.
Other highlights of the model include new fully adjustable hydraulic suspension and top notch electronics in the form of the MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) which includes the full Ride by Wire multimap management working in conjuction with the traction control (which is adjustable on 8 levels).

Braking will be provided by Brembo, with a pair of 320 mm discs at the front (matched to 4-piston calipers) and a 220 disc at the rear (coupled to a twin-piston caliper).
