The 2011 Triumph Speed Triple will get its official unveiling today, but before that it leaked overnight on Hell for Leather, who have been closely following Triumph’s new models and leaking campaigns.
The new Speed Triple, as already mentioned, drops its bug-eyed look.
It’s probably going to be a hate it or love it thing for Triumph fans, but overall we think the new headlights work and the Speed Triple is looking mightily aggressive, ready for street fightin’ action.
On the technical front, the bike gets ABS we should be a popular addition for those using it for everyday commuting, and a new aluminium chassis which reduces the weight by about 2 kg.
We also get a slight power and torque increase of 7 hp and 8 Nm on the 1050cc engine.
Many were hoping to see a 1200cc engine and the Speed Triple is still hefty compared to its competitors, so there’s knowing at this stage how the market will react to the new model.
We’ll be bringing you more details from the 2010 Intermot show and if you want an up-close look, check out the Speed Triple leaked accessories brochure.
More on its way from Intermot and Triumph, who should also reveal the new Tiger 800 and 800 XC models at the show.
