2011 EICMA: Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 m.y. 2012

The most anticipated Triumph novelty at the 2011 EICMA is definitely the new Tiger Explorer 1200.
Following the success of its little sisters – namely the 800 and 800XC – Triumph introduces a new version of the Explorer equipped with a new 3-cylinder 1200 cc engine.
The model is definitely bound to push the envelop of the big Adventure Touring Bikes market.

Technical highlights of the Explorer 1200 are the standard ABS – which can be disabled when riding off-road – cruise control, switchable traction control and, for the first time ever on a Triumph motorcycle, a ‘ride-by-wire’ electronic throttle system.
The chassis uses a tubular steel trellis frame coupled and single-sided swingarm, with a 19” rim on the front and 17” rim on the rear.
As always, Triumph attaches a lot of importance to the accessories for its models and the new Explorer is no exception: a two-box pannier system provides 60 liters of luggage space while a top box gives it a further 35 liters of capacity.
Optional extras include gel saddle, electronic gadgets, additional head lights and heated handles.
