2011 Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 previewed in Milano

Instead of waiting for the EICMA show in November, Aprilia decided to show off their new Dorsoduro 1200 during the Piaggio Group’s grand opening of its new office in Milan, with Piaggio’s CEO Roberto Colaninno and Max Biaggi present for the unveiling.
The Dorsoduro’s new 1200cc is a 90-degree, liquid-cooled V-twin engine that develops 130hp (95kW) at 8700rpm and an impressive 115Nm of torque at 7200rpm in a steel trellis frame.

It will feature ride-by-wire throttle with a three three-mode engine map selector.
Optional features will include twin-channel ABS and also the Aprilia Traction Control (ATC) system straight from from the Aprilia RSV4 superbike.
The front wheel is a fully adjustable 43mm upside-down Sachs forks, while the rear has a fully adjustable Sachs shock absorber.
Brakes will be Brembo’s 320mm radials up front with four pistons per caliper, while the rear will be 240mm disc with a single piston caliper.
The Dorsduro 1200 should be in showrooms at the end of October and priced around 11.
700 euros, but if you want the full ABS and ATC model expect to add 1000 euros more to that base price.
